The 18-strong team took on The Mighty Stride, walking a challenging 18 miles from Banchory to Duthie Park in Aberdeen on Sunday 7thJune to raise money for Trussell, Baxters corporate charity partner.
The team comprised Wieslaw Bogacki, Alison Cormack, Lindsay Dewar, Johnny Dunbar, Richard Florence, David Forrest, Edward Hannaford, Laine Herd, Daniel Malcolm, Michael Maver, Sean Milne, Kelly McAllister, Roseleen McGowan, Carrieanne McGrath, Millie McKenzie, Billie Ritchie, Steven Roberts, Brooke Williamson, all of whom work at for the company’s flagship Fochabers site in Moray.
Millie McKenzie, Finance Office Assistant and Graduate Apprentice at Baxters, helped to organise the team’s participation in the Aberdeen Kiltwalk. She said: “Taking part in the event was a great opportunity to bring some of the team together to raise money for Trussell.
“Thankfully, we got lucky with the weather and it was a brilliant but challenging experience! Although there were a few blisters and aching limbs around the Fochabers site in the days after, we all agree it was worth it to raise such a huge amount to support Trussell in their fight against poverty and hunger.”
Baxters has been working in partnership with Trussell since 2024, an anti-poverty charity and community of food banks. Food banks provide more than just food – they provide a listening ear and warm welcome to people facing hunger and hardship. Baxters fundraising allows food banks to continue providing vital advice and wraparound support that makes it less likely someone will need the food bank again in the future.
Flora Bannerman, Corporate Partnership Manager at Trussell, commented: “A huge thanks to the Souper Troupers for putting one foot in front of the other during the Aberdeen Kiltwalk for Trussell!
“The incredible fundraising of almost £2,000 will go a long way in enabling us to be there for people facing hunger and hardship and could help provide emergency food to over 100 people facing hunger.
“We are so grateful for this support and would like to thank the Souper Troupers for standing beside us as we strive towards a future where no one needs a food bank to get by.”
