Overview:

As a Factory Operator at Baxters, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently producing products by following food safety, health & safety, quality and operational procedures, while maintaining full material traceability, allergen control, and high standards of hygiene and housekeeping.

Accountabilities:

  • Maintain high standards of food safety, including allergen control and staff adherence to allergen procedures
  • Ensure all health & safety requirements are followed, including correct use of PPE, and promptly report hazards or incidents
  • Follow all procedures and ensure tasks are carried out in line with training and site standards
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, following “clean as you go” principles across workstations and areas
  • Minimise waste and actively take steps to reduce waste generation
  • Communicate effectively with team members and escalate issues promptly through Team Leaders
  • Support training compliance, ensuring operators are competent and highlighting urgent training needs
  • Participate in daily SIC meetings and contribute ideas for continuous improvement

Person Specification:

  • Ability to operate production machinery safely, carrying out basic set‑up, checks and escalating faults
  • Strong awareness of food safety, quality standards, allergens and hygiene requirements
  • Commitment to health & safety, including correct and consistent use of PPE
  • Understanding of material control, traceability, colour coding and BB date compliance
  • Basic numerical and computer literacy to record and interpret production data
  • Physical capability to stand for long periods and carry out repetitive tasks, including manual handling
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, including escalation of issues to Team Leaders
  • Reliability and punctuality, with a strong attendance record
  • Willingness to follow procedures, training, and site standards at all times
  • Ability to maintain high standards of housekeeping “clean as you go” and waste reduction

Working Hours - Monday to Thursday 6am to 4pm
