Job Overview
To directly support the Production Managers in ensuring the Area / Dept team, all the health & safety, food safety, quality, efficiency and productivity targets are met.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Health and Safety – Ensures a safe environment for all and meets all GMP standards.
  • Technical Integrity - Ensure that food safety and product specifications are met.
  • Performance Management – Contribute Effectively to the manage the performance of all team members in the department (including the use of performance management systems)
  • Training and Development – To ensure the team is inducted properly and trains team members to SOP standards. Actively is involved with maintaining SOPs for their areas. Coaches and develops direct reports to ensure commitment and consistently high performance and behaviour.
  • Managing Through use of KPI’s - Manages performance by achieving agreed team/work department KPIs and ensures they are understood by team members. Maintains visual management systems.
  • Resource Planning - Supports the Production Managers to plan, organise and measure labour, and material requirements within their area. Actively encourages job rotation.
  • Communication – To ensure they communicate job related information to their teams and at shift handovers.
  • Employee Relations – Encourages the company values and a positive culture, whilst fostering good employee relations through a fair, consistent and effective people management.
