Baxters is the proud headline sponsor of the Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running and delighted to be involved for the 11th consecutive year.  This years event will take place on 30th September 2012. 

Over 8,300 runners took part in the event in 2011 with Tomas Abya of Salford Harriers declared the winner of the marathon with a time of 2 hours 20 minutes.  As a major fixture in the Scottish & International running calendar, Baxters Loch Ness Marathon provides a fantastic opportunity for runners of all ages and abilities to enjoy exercising whilst taking in the magnificent Highland scenery. 

Baxters served their soups to all runners at the end of the race and also showcased products with live cookery demonstrations from the Baxters chef at the Baxters Food and Drink Fayre.

• The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running was founded by the Scottish Community Foundation (SCF), which aims to distribute £7.5m every year to charities and constituted voluntary groups throughout Scotland.
• Runners taking part in the 2011 Festival and visiting the area with friends and supporters are estimated to have benefited the local economy by spending around £950,000 on food, accommodation and associated activities and generating over £1.1m for charity.
•The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running was short-listed in the 2007, 2008 and 2010 VisitScotland Scottish Thistle Awards.
